Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from REDEMAT and Specialist in Gem and Jewelry Design from Design School /UEMG. Professor since 2005 and Head of the Center for Gemstone and Jewelry Design at the University of Minas Gerais State since 2018. Recipient of IF Design Award (Germany, 2021), JDE Jewelry Design Excellence Awards (Hong Kong), IBGM Jewelry Design Prize (Brazil), and First Place Winner of HRD Diamond Design Awards (Antwerp, 2003). Developed the first branded cut for a Brazilian gemstone, the Empire Cut and has consulted since 2004 for private companies and institutions such as AngloGold Ashanti, Brazil Small Business Agency/SEBRAE and the Brazilian Gems and Jewelry Institute/IBGM.
