Jennifer Fendrick is a Senior International Relations Officer in the Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor, and Human Trafficking (OCFT) at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB). ILAB’s mission is to fight all forms of labor exploitation around the world. Jennifer leads OCFT’s children in armed conflict portfolio, and conducts research and engagement on the worst form of child labor in mining in Eastern and Central Africa. Jennifer has written on a range of security and development challenges confronting the continent, including a book on countering violent extremism in Africa. She recently spoke at an Alliance 8.7 event on ending the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict, as well as a Geneva Peace Week podcast on inclusive reintegration, to be released on November 1, 2021.
