Sarah Parker

MEMBER, ETHICAL METALSMITHS STUDENTS: VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY (VCU)

Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Sarah Parker received her BFA from Appalachian State University in 2014. She is currently a graduate student in the Craft and Material Studies department at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

Through her work, Sarah explores the connections between material culture and place. She uses collage assemblage as a way to string together the broken parts of found plastics, rubber, steel, wood, etc. into newly imagined jewels to be worn on the body.
